A thrilling summer of athletics action continues as the world’s top athletes head to Lausanne, Switzerland for the next installment of the Diamond League, just a week after the blockbuster European Championships in Birmingham.

Home favourite and new European 800m champion Audrey Werro will compete in front of her home crowd, facing tough competition from world champion Lilian Odira and European bronze medallist Femke Broeders-Bol.

However, silver medallist Keely Hodgkinson will miss the event, alongside Commonwealth and European 1500m champion Georgia Hunter Bell, who are both gearing up for a sensational five-way battle in the 800m at the following week’s Diamond League meet in Zurich.

British star Amy Hunt, fresh off a stunning haul of four European gold medals, will line up in the 200m against Jamaican legend and two-time world champion Shericka Jackson.

Additional highlights include:

• World record holder Mondo Duplantis competing in the pole vault after securing a fourth successive European title.
• Reigning world and Olympic champion Rai Benjamin racing for the first and only time this season in the 400m hurdles.
• Letsile Tebogo, the Paris 2024 gold medallist, headlining the men’s 200m field.

The Diamond League event in Lausanne takes place on Friday, 21 August, with the men’s pole vault competition scheduled for Thursday, 20 August.
