Olympic triathlon champion Alex Yee is set to make his much-anticipated return to the Diamond League, competing in the 5,000m event in Monaco on Friday. This marks his first appearance in the Diamond League in seven years, and fans can catch the action live on BBC.

Since his impressive performance at the Paris 2024 Games, Yee has ventured into marathon running, debuting in London last year and achieving what was then the second-fastest time by a Briton in Valencia. At 28 years old, Yee is transitioning back to triathlon this year but remains eager to embrace new challenges.

In his own words, Yee stated, "I think we've always seen this kind of template of how we should look to prepare for an Olympic Games. I'm trying to look in slightly different avenues to be able to unlock new performances."

He emphasized the importance of learning from each experience, saying, "For me, an important thing throughout this all is just learning, being able to take in these opportunities, and come out the other side as a better athlete overall."

Yee last raced in the Diamond League 5,000m in London in 2019, holding a personal best of 13:13.89 seconds. He will face a formidable lineup, including:
