West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has been advised to abstain from attending the club's home matches following a BBC Panorama and Times investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. A spokesperson for London Stadium, where West Ham plays, indicated that it had "recommended" Sullivan not attend due to fears of fan unrest.

London Stadium requested advance notice for any visits from the billionaire, aiming to implement additional safety measures. However, sources suggest that Sullivan is likely to ignore this advice, with the club informing London Stadium of this expectation.

The recommendation came after revelations that seven women accused Sullivan of sexually exploitative and predatory behavior, which he has categorically denied. He stepped down as joint chairman just before the investigation aired, stating his focus on disproving what he termed "factually incorrect and entirely false, decades-old allegations."

Additionally, Sullivan has been banned from contact with West Ham's women's and youth teams for three years due to safeguarding concerns, a restriction previously unknown to London Stadium until the investigation. This ban followed a historical allegation raised with the Football Association in 2023. Sullivan claimed the allegation was false and described the restrictions as "meaningless" since he had not met any academy or women's team players individually.

West Ham was relegated from the Premier League in May and is set to play their first home game of the new season, a Carabao Cup match against Portsmouth, on Saturday. Despite the safeguarding concerns, London Stadium stated that the club does not view Sullivan's attendance as posing an ongoing risk. Still, they recommended he stay away due to potential protests and anti-social behavior from some fans.

West Ham has chosen not to comment, but it is understood they plan to collaborate with stadium operators to facilitate Sullivan's attendance at future games. Sullivan has not yet responded to requests for comment.
