Former Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal has officially joined Getafe on a free transfer, marking a new chapter in his illustrious career. After his contract at the Bernabeu expired in June, the 34-year-old right-back has been without a club until now.

Having spent an impressive 23 years at Real Madrid, Carvajal is celebrated as one of the most decorated players in football history, boasting 27 titles including six Champions League victories. His experience is invaluable as he signs a contract with Getafe that runs until June next year.

Getafe, currently placed 11th in La Liga, is eager to leverage Carvajal's leadership and experience to boost their campaign. His move comes at a time when he seeks to revitalize his career after facing significant injury challenges in recent years.

• International Career: Carvajal has earned 51 caps for Spain, contributing to their Nations League victory in 2023 and their European Championships triumph in 2024.
• Injury Concerns: Recent seasons have seen him struggle with injuries, including a cruciate ligament tear in October 2024 and another serious knee injury a year later. This has limited his appearances, especially with the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid last summer.

Despite these setbacks, Getafe welcomes Carvajal, aiming to benefit from his vast experience and leadership on the field.
