Craig Bellamy will continue as the head coach of Wales following the breakdown of his potential move to Burnley. Football Association of Wales chief executive Noel Mooney confirmed this expectation after advanced negotiations for Bellamy's switch to the Championship club fell through.

In a statement on Friday, Mooney emphasized Bellamy's dedication, stating he is "absolutely committed" to leading Wales as they prepare for the upcoming Nations League campaign this autumn. Mooney praised Bellamy's contributions, noting that he successfully guided the team from Nations League B to A.

Looking ahead, Wales will face formidable opponents including Portugal, Denmark, and Norway. Mooney reflected on the previous disappointment in missing out on the World Cup, acknowledging the unpredictability of penalties:

We were unfortunate not to get the World Cup on penalty kicks - when you get to penalty kicks it's a lottery.

Ex-Wales international Iwan Roberts expressed concerns about Bellamy's future, suggesting he may have "burned a lot of bridges" during the negotiations with Burnley, raising questions about the FAW's trust in him. Despite these concerns, when asked if Bellamy would still be in charge during the September fixtures, Mooney confidently replied, "Yeah, we just look forward to these games."

Mooney concluded by commending Bellamy's performance, stating, "He's done a terrific job here so far. He has got us playing really, really good football. We're just looking forward to the autumn now."
