Dak Prescott joins the chorus of Dallas voices advocating for the Cowboys to invest in George Pickens. Following CeeDee Lamb's earlier remarks about retaining his teammate, Prescott emphasized the need to secure one of the league's top receiver duos.

During an appearance on Up & Adams, Prescott stated, "George, you know he loves football. And at the end of the day, it's not for the money. However, he should get every dollar that he deserves because he's a hell of a player. And we should probably give it to him sooner than later because [the price] is only gonna go up."

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they are unable to negotiate a long-term deal with Pickens until after the Super Bowl. The deadline for franchise-tagged players to sign such deals passed in July, and Pickens is set to play this season on a fully guaranteed, one-year, $27.3 million contract.

Prescott is right—the wide receiver market is booming. Jaxon Smith-Njigba recently set a new benchmark with a four-year, $168.6 million extension. If Pickens replicates his impressive performance from last season, where he recorded 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, he will command a top-tier contract.

Historically, teams like the Bengals and Dolphins have managed to pay multiple star receivers, but doing so for both Lamb and Pickens could be unprecedented. Prescott, along with Tyler Smith and Quinnen Williams, are also among the highest-paid at their positions, complicating the Cowboys' salary cap situation.

Despite these challenges, the Cowboys have the financial flexibility to make significant investments if they choose, utilizing strategies to manage salary cap hits effectively.
