Michael Carrick finds himself on the brink at Manchester United following a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League. This loss marks a significant low for the team, which is currently grappling with an injury crisis in defense, yet that does little to excuse the team's dismal performance.

In a match where Como, led by Cesc Fabregas, showcased their prowess in their first Champions League appearance, Manchester United appeared outmatched, being outrun, outfought, and outclassed throughout the game.

The defeat extends United's winless streak to seven games, intensifying the calls for Carrick's dismissal. Fans and pundits alike are questioning the manager's ability to lead the team, especially after the anticipated “fresh start” failed to materialize following a 1-1 draw against Leeds just days prior.

Looking ahead, Manchester United faces Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon, a match that will undoubtedly increase the pressure on Carrick and his squad as they seek to end their troubling run.
