Delicious Orie, the former English heavyweight boxer, has transitioned from the ring to a new role as a pundit for TNT Sports ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. After a brief professional career, which included a single bout, Orie retired last year but remains deeply connected to the sport he loves.

In an interview, Orie expressed his feelings about his retirement, stating, "I was very much at peace with life as soon as I sort of announced it. It almost felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders." He emphasized that his departure was not due to a lack of passion for boxing, but rather a personal choice.

Reflecting on his own experiences at the Commonwealth Games, Orie described the emotions he felt:

The feeling is warmth, and it’s joy, it’s happiness... looking back, it was genuinely the best experience I had in my journey as a boxer.

Orie shared insights into the differences between the Commonwealth and Olympic Games, noting the unique atmosphere of the Commonwealth event, especially since it took place in his hometown of Birmingham.

As he anticipates the upcoming Games, Orie predicts impressive performances from Chantelle Reid, Isaac Okoh, and Damar Thomas, who are among the 14 boxers representing England. He praised Reid's experience and adaptability, while also recognizing the talent of Okoh and Thomas, stating, "They both helped me massively towards my Olympic journey."

Orie’s journey may have changed, but his commitment to the sport and the next generation of boxers remains steadfast.
