A decade after his impactful protest, Colin Kaepernick prepares to release his memoir titled “The Perilous Fight” on 15 September. This date marks nearly ten years since he famously knelt during a preseason game, a poignant demonstration against police violence and racial inequality.

Published by Legacy Lit, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, Kaepernick's memoir aims to provide insight into the motivations behind his protest. He expressed that while many witnessed the moment, few understood the years leading up to it:
