Christian Horner made his long-awaited return to the Formula 1 paddock during the British Grand Prix held at Silverstone on Sunday. This marks his first appearance since departing from his roles as both team principal and chief executive of Red Bull Racing last year.

Horner arrived at the circuit shortly before the race, which began at 3 PM, and expressed his excitement to be back, stating, "It's great to be back here at Silverstone. Ultimately I'm a fan and the British Grand Prix is in town. I've not missed one since '93, so it's good to be here."

After a remarkable 20-year tenure with Red Bull, where he led the team to eight Drivers' Championships and six Constructors' Championships, Horner exited just three days after the previous year’s British GP. He reportedly received a substantial pay-out of around £75 million, although he opted for a shorter waiting period before potentially re-entering the sport.

Currently, Horner is interested in returning to Formula 1 with a stake in a team, a position he did not hold while at Red Bull. He has been linked to several opportunities:

• A minority stake in Alpine, currently held by US investment firm Otro Capital.
• A potential new 12th team in collaboration with Chinese car manufacturer BYD.
• A possible role with Aston Martin, which he acknowledged as a struggling but iconic British brand.

Reflecting on his time away, Horner remarked, "I've enjoyed my time out... it’s the first time I've ever had a bit of time to get off the hamster wheel."

Despite the buzz around his future, he emphasized his lack of urgency, stating, "The main thing is F1 is in such a great place... I'm on no rush." Horner's return has reignited speculation about his next move in the sport.
