Chris Billam-Smith and Cheavon Clarke faced off in a tense staredown at the ceremonial weigh-in ahead of their highly anticipated fight on Saturday night at the Copper Box Arena, broadcast live on Sky Sports. Billam-Smith, maintaining a fierce glare until Clarke looked away, promised that the bout would be "a violent one" and expressed his intent to finish the fight inside the distance.

Clarke, who has previously defeated Billam-Smith twice in amateur competitions, is eager to turn the tables in their professional encounter. "Twenty-five-year-old me will be very happy tomorrow night," Billam-Smith stated confidently, acknowledging Clarke's recent success but emphasizing his own capabilities.

Clarke responded with determination, declaring, "After tomorrow night you guys will be talking my name. It's going to be explosive." He expressed that his training camp has been exceptionally challenging, hinting at the intensity of the upcoming clash.

In a related bout, Shane Mosley Jr. faced challenges at the weigh-in for his middleweight fight against Denzel Bentley. Initially missing weight, Mosley managed to shed the excess pound just before the deadline, ensuring the fight remains on. Bentley, who made weight comfortably, expressed confidence in his preparation, stating, "We're both respectful but we're letting each other know I think I'm coming out the victor."

Both Billam-Smith and Clarke come into this fight with impressive recent victories, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown. Dana White, promoter of Zuffa Boxing, highlighted the significance of this match, noting that it could lead to even greater fights in the future. "Styles make fights and stylistically that should be a fun fight," he remarked, anticipating a memorable night in the boxing arena.
