Chelsea and Manchester United are preparing for a potential bidding war this January for Flavio Goncalves, the highly-rated Sporting Lisbon winger. The 19-year-old talent has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs amid concerns from Sporting about his future.

Currently under contract until 2030, Goncalves is available for a release clause of €60m. However, Sporting is eager to secure a new deal that would increase his release clause to €100m. With both Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly readying offers between €45-50m, the winter transfer window promises to be competitive.

• Chelsea and Manchester United have scouted Goncalves extensively.
• Sporting hopes to retain him, aiming for a lucrative contract extension.
• There is uncertainty surrounding Goncalves' commitment to staying at Sporting, as contract negotiations have stalled.

Sources indicate that clubs are impressed by Goncalves' explosive start in the first team, showcasing his exceptional skills such as:

• Explosive acceleration
• One-on-one dribbling ability
• Agility in tight spaces
• Direct goal contributions

As Sporting Lisbon grapples with the prospect of losing a key player, the upcoming months will be critical in determining Goncalves' next steps and potential move to one of England's top clubs.
