The eagerly awaited Old Firm clash between Celtic and Rangers is set for this Sunday in the Scottish Premiership, live on Sky Sports. With Derek McInnes aiming to complete a double against Celtic, the pressure mounts on Martin O'Neill after a challenging week that included a 3-0 defeat to Rangers and a subsequent 3-1 loss to Ferencvaros in the Europa League.

Key Talking Points:

• Pressure on O'Neill: Once celebrated for leading Celtic to a league and cup double, O'Neill now faces scrutiny as back-to-back defeats against their rivals could jeopardize their season.

• McInnes on the Rise: After a rocky start, McInnes has turned things around with recent victories, and a win on Sunday would bring Rangers just two points behind Celtic in the standings.

Selection Dilemmas for Celtic:

O'Neill confronts significant selection issues, needing to finalize his starting XI:

• Key Players: Expected starters include Callum McGregor, Benjamin Nygren, Camilo Duran, Kieran Tierney, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Colby Donovan.
• Goalkeeper: Sam Johnstone faces competition after a shaky debut, while Liam Scales and Auston Trusty vie for the left center-back position.
• Midfield: O'Neill may opt for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to bolster the midfield alongside McGregor.

Rangers' Tactical Approach:

McInnes successfully utilized a tactical masterclass in their previous encounter, leveraging James Penrice as an auxiliary midfielder. For this match, he may consider adjustments to counter Celtic's style, especially without away fans present.

Managers' Perspectives:

Martin O'Neill emphasized the importance of turning the tide, stating, "We need to be up for the game. It would be nice to win it."

Derek McInnes remarked on the significance of player performance over tactics, stressing the need for a strong showing at Celtic Park.

As the teams prepare for this crucial encounter, the stakes could not be higher for both managers and their squads.
