Celtic has officially signed Oliver Sorensen from Parma on loan, shortly after assistant manager Shaun Maloney indicated the club's pursuit of several new players before the impending transfer deadline. Sorensen, a 24-year-old midfielder, will spend the entire season in Glasgow, with Celtic retaining an option to buy.

There's some key positions that we still need a bit of work on in the next couple of days. We need that back-up in that position. We need somebody to keep challenging KT.

In light of the recent sale of Arne Engels to West Ham United, Sorensen's arrival is crucial to fill that gap in the midfield.

Maloney also addressed speculation regarding an 18-year-old Chelsea forward, Shim Mheuka, stating it remains uncertain. He mentioned:

Any signing in that striker area... will either transpire in the next 24, 48 hours, or we'll just go as we are.

Furthermore, discussions surrounding Reo Hatate, who has made a significant impact at Celtic since January 2022, reveal his potential departure could leave a void in the squad.

The Scottish transfer deadline is set for Thursday at 17:00 BST, with the Europa League squad needing to be finalized by Wednesday at 23:59. Maloney reiterated the urgency:

We want to try and get them in the squad if we can, particularly for Europe.
