Brydon Carse has been excluded from the England squad for the third Test against Pakistan, as the Cricket Regulator investigates an incident at a Derby nightclub. Carse had previously been stood down ahead of the second Test after being arrested and subsequently de-arrested the Saturday before, following his performance in a County Championship victory for Durham.

Derbyshire Police confirmed they are looking into an allegation of assault related to that night, though Carse's specific involvement remains unclear. Despite featuring for his county last week, he will not participate against Northamptonshire due to “pre-arranged workload management with the ECB.”

In his place, Sonny Baker has been called up to the England squad and will serve as seam bowling cover alongside Sam Cook. Matthew Fisher has been released from the group. Ollie Pope continues as the spare batter, while Shoaib Bashir remains as a specialist spin option.

Interim head coach Marcus Trescothick expressed his desire to win the series 3-0, emphasizing the importance of fielding a consistent team. He stated, “First and foremost I want to win the series 3-0... We want to go there and win the series 3-0.”
