As the Philadelphia Phillies faced a rough stretch, going 3-8 since the All-Star break, star outfielder Bryce Harper expressed the need for reinforcements before the upcoming trade deadline. The team managed to score just 43 runs in 11 games, with only two games featuring significant offensive outbursts of 10 and 11 runs.

Following a 1-0 loss to the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, Harper stated, "I think we need some help... Anytime you can get some help in here and reinforcements, I think it helps." He left the decision to Dave Dombrowski, the Phillies' president of baseball operations, known for making impactful trade deadline moves in previous years, including acquiring players like Jhoan Duran and Brandon Marsh.

However, interim manager Don Mattingly cautioned Harper to focus on his game rather than the front office's decisions. He remarked, "I don't really sense anybody else thinking about it, honestly," emphasizing the importance of letting the organization manage its direction without outside influence from players.

Mattingly acknowledged the team's struggles, stating, "We haven't played great since the break... But you can't let that bother the next phase of where we're going." He highlighted that while it's essential to improve, comments about the team could imply dissatisfaction with the current players.
