Bruno Guimaraes, the Arsenal midfielder, made headlines following his impressive performance against Sunderland last weekend, where he scored a stunning goal. Despite leaving Newcastle United in the summer, Guimaraes returned to the north east and marked the occasion with a memorable celebration at the Stadium of Light.

After the match, it became known that Guimaraes spent the night at the home of his former teammate Joelinton. The two players, who shared a close bond during Guimaraes' time at St James' Park, rekindled their friendship following the match, according to the Daily Mail.

In his post-match comments, Guimaraes reflected on his history with Newcastle, stating:

"I scored a beautiful goal, it’s a beautiful moment for me and my family and I’m very happy. A beautiful goal in a very good place. Everyone knows my past; I had an amazing history at Newcastle. But now I’m trying to create a new history here and I’ve started in the right way."

Despite some discontent among Newcastle fans regarding his departure, Guimaraes expressed nothing but positive feelings toward the club. As he prepares to face his old team later in the season, it raises questions about the reception he will receive from the fans.

Guimaraes was not the only significant player to leave NUFC this summer, joining fellow stars Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali in making a move away from the club.
