Bruno Guimarães faced a challenging summer filled with emotional turmoil as he transitioned from Newcastle United to Arsenal. The Brazilian midfielder, who had a stellar World Cup but faced disappointment with a penalty miss against Norway, was torn between his affection for Newcastle and the allure of a dream move to Arsenal.

Guimarães reflected on his time at Newcastle, where he experienced significant highs, including Champions League qualifications and a historic Carabao Cup victory in 2025, ending a 70-year trophy drought. However, with key teammates leaving and changes in management, he felt compelled to pursue a new challenge, culminating in a £75m transfer.

Since joining Arsenal, Guimarães has made an immediate impact, scoring his first goal against Sunderland in September and contributing to a 2-0 victory. He also played a crucial role in a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich, nearly scoring another vital goal.

As he settles into his new surroundings, Guimarães cherishes the relationships he built at Newcastle, admitting, "I never felt so loved like the way I was at Newcastle. I hope I can have the same love here at Arsenal." He enjoys a promising midfield partnership with Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard, adapting to various roles as the team seeks balance under Mikel Arteta.

Guimarães expressed his admiration for Manuel Neuer, who denied him a goal during the Bayern match, showcasing the high standards he encounters at Arsenal. He noted the club's evolving mentality under Arteta, emphasizing their relentless pursuit of victory and commitment to excellence.

Looking ahead, Guimarães is eager to continue making his mark at Arsenal, with their next challenge against Everton on Saturday.
