Red Bull Junior driver Fionn McLaughlin celebrated a significant milestone by scoring his first points in Formula 3 during the sprint race at Silverstone. The Northern Irish teenager finished in ninth place, earning two crucial points in his debut season.

Having moved up to Formula 3 after clinching the British F4 title last year, McLaughlin showcased his potential on a prestigious stage. The race was won by American driver Ugo Ugochukwu, who secured victory ahead of Yevan David and Theophile Nael.

Looking ahead, McLaughlin will start the feature race from sixth place at 08:25 BST on Sunday, while British driver Freddie Slater will take the pole position.

In Formula 2, title contender Alex Dunne also experienced a challenging race, finishing in ninth place during the sprint. Bulgaria's Nikola Tsolov triumphed, marking his fifth win of the season, followed by championship leader Gabriele Mini and Rafael Villagomez from Mexico. Dunne, an Alpine junior driver, is set to start the feature race from second on the grid, just behind Rafael Camara. The Formula 2 feature race is scheduled for 11:15 BST, right before the British Grand Prix.
