Aneurin Donald is set to showcase his talent on the international stage as he makes his England debut in the first T20 against Sri Lanka at the Utilita Bowl on Tuesday. Partnering with Jos Buttler at the top of the order, Donald steps in after injuries sidelined Phil Salt and Jacob Bethell.

The 29-year-old batter, who previously played for Glamorgan, has been recognized for his explosive batting style, leading the Vitality Blast this year with an impressive 37 sixes. Head coach Brendon McCullum expressed excitement over Donald's inclusion, stating, "Aneurin is going to open the batting with Jos, which is very exciting. He has raw power and an incredible amount of talent."

England's batting lineup will also feature notable players such as Harry Brook, Tom Banton, Jordan Cox, and Will Jacks. The seam attack will comprise Jamie Overton, Sonny Baker, and Josh Tongue, as Jofra Archer has been rested to manage his workload.

McCullum emphasized the importance of player management, stating, "We are trying to be smart around player management. Appreciative they have had a fair schedule, while trying to make sure we have our best team out there." As England gears up for the match, all eyes will be on Donald as he aims to make a significant impact in his first appearance.
