Bournemouth has officially signed right-back Juanlu Sanchez from Sevilla in a deal valued at up to £11.1 million. The 22-year-old arrives at the Cherries boasting over 100 senior appearances after establishing himself in Sevilla's first team, where he has competed in prestigious tournaments like the Champions League, Uefa Super Cup, and La Liga.

In addition to his club experience, Juanlu is an Olympic gold medallist, having played a pivotal role in Spain's victory in the 2024 Olympics, scoring the decisive goal in the semi-final against Morocco and contributing to the win over France in the final.

Juanlu expressed his excitement, stating, "I am very happy, both for me and for my family. We had a lot of desire to come here and finally I can say that I am a player of Bournemouth."

The financial breakdown of the deal indicates an initial fee of £9.4 million, with potential add-ons totaling £1.7 million. Tiago Pinto, the Cherries' president of football operations, praised Juanlu's impressive experience at a young age, noting, "He has shown his qualities domestically and in European competitions, so we know of his ability to compete at the top level consistently."

Juanlu becomes Bournemouth's third signing of the summer, following Antonio Silva from Benfica and Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche, both for £25.7 million. As the team prepares for a historic season competing in the Europa League, Bournemouth manager Marco Rose is now on the lookout for a second goalkeeper to challenge Djordje Petrovic. Meanwhile, Sevilla is reportedly interested in striker Enes Unal, whom Bournemouth aims to sell, though Unal is considering other options in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
