Phil Mickelson has resigned from his membership at The Farms Golf Club in Southern California following allegations of inappropriate conduct towards a female employee. This decision comes after an internal investigation that revealed claims of unwanted physical contact, as reported by Golf Digest.

The six-time major champion, aged 55, was not accused of any crime. His attorney, Tom Clare, confirmed that Mickelson chose to step down from the club voluntarily. The allegations involve an incident where the employee alleged that Mickelson approached her inside the clubhouse and made nonconsensual physical contact. After the woman rejected his advances, she reported the incident to her supervisors.

In response, the club initiated an investigation and confronted Mickelson on the course, during which he was reportedly asked to leave.

In a statement, The Farms Golf Club emphasized its commitment to member conduct, stating:

Following a staff member report of member misconduct, the club provided immediate and ongoing support to the staff member. A thorough independent investigation was conducted, and decisive action was taken. This individual is no longer a member of The Farms Golf Club.

While the club declined to provide further details due to privacy concerns, Mickelson's spokesperson refuted any wrongdoing, asserting that "any misunderstanding has been cleared up."

Currently, Mickelson is attending to a family health matter, which has affected his participation in major tournaments this year, including withdrawals from the Masters and PGA Championship. He also missed the recent U.S. Open after exhausting his tournament exemptions. Known for being the oldest major champion after his 2021 PGA Championship win at age 50, Mickelson has become a notable figure in the Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit.
