The BMW PGA Championship reaches its exciting finale at Wentworth Club on Sunday, featuring a competitive field vying for significant prize money in this premier DP World Tour event.

The total purse for the tournament stands at $9 million (£6.6 million), with the winner set to take home over £1.1 million. In addition to the financial reward, the champion will also earn 1,335 points towards their ranking in the DP World Tour’s Order of Merit.

Rory McIlroy finds himself particularly driven to secure these points after losing ground to his rival, Patrick Reed, during the Irish Open. Reed, however, has withdrawn from the BMW PGA Championship due to a hand injury, leaving McIlroy in a favorable position.

As the tournament unfolds, McIlroy starts two shots behind the leaders, aiming to clinch his second title at Wentworth since his previous victory in 2014.
