In a joint statement, chairman George McCaskey and team president and CEO Kevin Warren expressed confidence in the project:

We believe a world-class stadium project in Hammond will transform the region, connecting Northwest Indiana to the South Side of Chicago.

This historic vote represents the first time the Bears' board has considered a specific stadium site. A source indicated to ESPN's Adam Schefter that barring unforeseen circumstances, the deal appears nearly finalized.
