Barcelona faces ongoing salary limit challenges, forcing the club to make tough decisions regarding player exits. Veteran goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, 34, finds himself surplus to requirements following the signing of Joan Garcia. Despite being the team's captain, Barcelona has aimed to offload him for some time.

This summer, ter Stegen is set to join Ajax on loan, but the Dutch club is reluctant to cover much of his substantial wages. In addition to ter Stegen's departure, Barcelona must also find approximately €16m to secure the signing of Anthony Gordon, along with sufficient room for his wages within the salary cap. Altogether, this could require around €30m (£25.88m), making ter Stegen's exit crucial for the club's financial maneuvering this summer. Barcelona is expected to pursue multiple sales to navigate their salary limit effectively.
