Lewis Hamilton aims for Ferrari to achieve back-to-back victories at the Austrian Grand Prix, but acknowledges that stopping Mercedes will be a significant challenge. Hamilton's recent three-stop strategy in Barcelona resulted in his first win since joining Ferrari ahead of the 2025 season, breaking Kimi Antonelli's five-race winning streak.

Starting from third on the grid at the Red Bull Ring, Hamilton is positioned just behind teammate Charles Leclerc, while George Russell of Mercedes claimed pole position.

When discussing Ferrari's chances, Hamilton stated, "I think out of pure pace, no. Mercedes have been very quick this weekend... but maybe with strategy there's an opportunity." He emphasized the need for the team to maximize points and keep at least one Mercedes behind, aiming for a combined effort with Leclerc to exert pressure on their rivals.

Hamilton also noted that despite being off pace on Friday, adjustments to the car helped close the gap. He remains hopeful for a strong performance, saying, "It's a long way to Turn 3, so hopefully we're in a good fight."

Russell acknowledged the fierce competition, stating, "[Ferrari] are super-fast... it may be difficult to hold on to" if they split strategies. Championship leader Antonelli, starting fourth, expressed his determination to manage tire degradation effectively.

The grid also features Max Verstappen of Red Bull, along with McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, all adding to the competitive landscape for the race.
