Iñigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Beñat Prados did not participate in Athletic Bilbao’s second pre-season friendly at Sarriena, as head coach Edin Terzic opted for a 24-man squad that excluded both midfielders from any playing time, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The match against Leioa concluded with a resounding 0-11 victory for Athletic, with forward Hierro netting the final two goals late in the game. Terzic implemented significant changes at halftime, replacing the entire starting lineup except for Nacho Monreal, who played the full match. Monreal partnered Yeray in the first half and later switched to play alongside Paredes after the break. Newcomers Gerenabarrena and Johaneko also made their first pre-season appearances in the initial lineup.

The absence of Galarreta and Prados raised eyebrows, particularly as both had played in the midweek match against Derio. Galarreta's omission appears to be a matter of careful squad management, while Prados's situation is more complex.
