Igor Jesus delivered a stunning late goal to secure a 2-1 victory for Nottingham Forest against Aston Villa at Villa Park on October 7, 2023. This win marked Forest’s first under new manager Oliver Glasner, while Villa continued their winless streak, now sitting in the bottom three of the Premier League.

The match took a dramatic turn just after halftime when Liam Delap put Forest ahead with a goal just 45 seconds into the second half. Villa managed to level the score with Alysson's first league goal, but Jesus had the final say with his decisive strike in the 88th minute.

Key highlights include:

• Villa's struggle to score early, including a sequence where Emiliano Buendia's cross was nearly a goal after a chaotic save from Matz Sels.
• Forest appeared confident, with James McAtee and Morgan Gibbs-White creating opportunities, although Neco Williams missed a clear chance to extend their lead.
• Villa responded by substituting Nicolas Jackson at halftime, which sparked a revival as they finally scored through Alysson.
• Despite Villa's momentum, Forest struck back, culminating in Jesus’s late winner, ensuring a historic victory at Villa Park for the first time since 1994.

Unai Emery faces mounting pressure as he navigates a challenging season, while Glasner remains unbeaten against him in their last eight encounters.
