Nottingham Forest triumphed over Aston Villa with a score of 2-1 at Villa Park, leaving Unai Emery still in search of his first Premier League victory this season. This match marked another victory for Oliver Glasner against Emery, who now remains winless in their last eight encounters.

Liam Delap initiated the scoring for Forest with a stunning long-range shot, marking his first goal for the club. In response, Emery sought inspiration from his new signings, Johan Manzambi and Ibrahim Mbaye. Their introduction provided a much-needed spark for Villa, leading to Alysson equalizing with his first goal for the club.

At this juncture, Villa appeared to be gaining momentum. However, disaster struck when Ian Maatsen was forced to leave the pitch due to injury, leaving Villa with only ten men as they had already exhausted their substitutes.

Seizing the opportunity, Nottingham Forest capitalized on Villa's disadvantage. With just three minutes left in the match, Igor Jesus delivered the winning goal, igniting celebrations among the travelling Forest supporters.

This match encapsulated the ongoing rivalry between these two teams, with Nottingham Forest continuing to assert their dominance over Aston Villa.
