Arsenal has secured the signing of prolific forward Selina Cerci from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, a move that head coach Renée Slegers describes as a “great addition.”

Cerci, who netted 34 goals in 47 appearances over two seasons at Hoffenheim, becomes Arsenal's second signing from the Frauen Bundesliga this summer, following Georgia Stanway from Bayern Munich.

Slegers expressed enthusiasm, stating, “I’m so pleased that Selina will be joining our group. She has impressive goalscoring numbers and brings good presence, physicality, and forward intent. Combined with her strong work ethic, we feel these qualities make her a great addition to our squad.”

The 26-year-old forward, who has also played for Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich’s second team, shared her excitement about joining Arsenal, saying, “This is an opportunity to compete against and play alongside top players in one of the best leagues in the world.” Cerci has also scored five goals in 20 appearances for the German national team and participated in last year’s European Championship. Arsenal's director of football, Clare Wheatley, welcomed her, emphasizing her proven record in the Bundesliga.

The winger played a pivotal role in Chelsea's success, contributing to seven major trophies, including three Women’s Super League titles. The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract with last season’s Women’s Champions League finalists, having made 139 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 17 goals and providing 26 assists.
