Roma defender Wesley has emerged as a potential target for Arsenal, who are closely monitoring the 22-year-old's performances. Recent reports from 4-4-2 indicate that Arsenal sent scouts to observe him during a Champions League match against Fenerbahce.

As Mikel Arteta seeks to strengthen his squad, the need for a versatile full-back who excels in both defense and attack is apparent. Wesley, valued at €55 million, presents an intriguing option, although it remains uncertain if Arsenal will pursue him in January.

Key considerations include:

• Current squad depth: Arsenal boasts a reliable full-back in Jurrien Timber, which may limit Wesley's playing time.
• Wesley's aspirations: The young talent, who has been a key player for Roma, may be hesitant to join a club where he might not secure a starting role.

Additionally, Atletico Madrid is also showing interest in Wesley, complicating Arsenal's pursuit, particularly due to the financial implications of his asking price.

Wesley is under contract with Roma until 2030, giving the Italian club leverage in negotiations. With the allure of the Premier League and the chance to compete for major trophies, the prospect of joining Arsenal could be appealing for Wesley, provided he is offered a clear role in the first team.
