Mikel Arteta reassured Arsenal supporters that they “don’t have to worry about” his contract situation, emphasizing his desire to remain with the club. Currently in the final 12 months of his deal signed in 2024, Arteta expressed confidence that discussions for a renewal will occur at the right time.

Having led the Gunners since 2019, Arteta celebrated their first Premier League title in 22 years last season. As Arsenal prepares to face Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday at 15:00 BST, he addressed concerns regarding his contract in a recent news conference.

“No, they don’t have to worry about any of that because I want to be here, I’m extremely happy,” Arteta stated, highlighting his gratitude for his working environment.

Arsenal is focused on building upon last season's success, making significant signings in the transfer window, including:

“There’s always another priority... the time on the contract is not going to be an issue,” he explained, reinforcing his commitment to the club’s ambitions to evolve and strengthen the squad following their recent Champions League final appearance against Paris St-Germain.
