Arsenal's head of sports medicine, Dr Zafar Iqbal, is leaving the club after two years.

Dr Iqbal, who previously worked with Crystal Palace and Liverpool, was informed of his departure during a meeting last week. This decision came in the wake of Arsenal's disappointing Champions League final loss to Paris St-Germain.

He joined Emirates Stadium in 2024, taking over from Gary O'Driscoll, who moved to Manchester United. Iqbal is regarded as a highly respected figure in football, making his exit unexpected for many within the organization.
