Arsenal and Manchester United are closely monitoring Maxi Araújo, a defender from Sporting CP, although neither club plans to make an immediate move for the Uruguayan international.

An exclusive report from Sport Witness reveals that both Premier League giants are interested in the 26-year-old, yet no significant developments have surfaced regarding a potential transfer despite ongoing speculation about possible bids.

Maxi Araújo has garnered attention due to his impressive performances in Portugal, showcasing his ability to play as a left-back while also contributing in attack. Key points about his profile include:

• Versatility: Capable of playing multiple roles on the left side of defense.
• International Experience: Adds depth and tactical flexibility to any squad.
• Strong Performance: Scored seven goals and provided six assists in 47 appearances last season.

Arsenal could enhance their defensive options, especially as Mikel Arteta aims to build a competitive squad across various competitions. Meanwhile, Manchester United is assessing Araújo as a potential defensive reinforcement for future transfer windows, providing Michael Carrick with greater tactical flexibility.

However, both clubs seem hesitant to accelerate their pursuit at this time. Reports suggesting offers worth €65 million have not been substantiated by new developments, indicating that their interest remains unchanged.

Convincing Sporting CP to part with Araújo will be challenging. The Portuguese club has previously valued him between €45-50 million, with an €80 million release clause in his contract. Additionally, Araújo committed to Sporting in August by signing an improved deal running until 2030, strengthening the club's negotiating position.

While Arsenal and Manchester United may revisit their interest in the coming months, Sporting’s valuation and Araújo’s long-term contract could complicate any potential deal.
