During a media session on Monday, Manning reflected on the incident, joking that it helped him focus before the game. "It was definitely a little bit of a shock," he said. "I was definitely thrown off. It's hard to see in that smoke. It was good to get my first hit before the game started and get ready to roll."

Manning's performance proved he was indeed ready; he threw for 305 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in a commanding 59-7 victory over the Bobcats.

Looking ahead, Texas prepares to face the No. 1 Ohio State on Saturday, a much tougher challenge than the Bobcats. Manning expressed his eagerness to improve upon last year's struggles against the Buckeyes, stating, "It was rough film to watch. I don't like watching it that much."
