Manager Antonio Conte has confirmed his departure from Napoli this summer, just a year after leading the club to the Serie A title. Taking the helm in 2024, Conte secured the club's fourth top-flight championship during his inaugural season.

This season, however, Napoli struggled, finishing in second place, 11 points behind champions Inter Milan. Their performance in the Champions League also faltered, as they failed to progress to the knockout stages, a persistent issue for Conte in his managerial career.

Following Napoli's final match of the season, a 1-0 victory over Udinese, Conte announced his decision to leave during a media conference alongside club president Aurelio de Laurentiis.

"It's been an honour, really special to coach Napoli. It's been two great seasons, an exceptional experience," Conte expressed to the Italian press.

He revealed that his decision was made weeks prior, stating, "Napoli will always be home."

When questioned about the possibility of becoming the new manager of the Italian national team, Conte humorously suggested, "My advice would be to hire Pep Guardiola."

Although Conte contemplated leaving last summer, he ultimately chose to remain after discussions with De Laurentiis. Despite new signings like Kevin de Bruyne and Rasmus Hojlund, injuries and inconsistencies plagued Napoli's title defense this season.
