London Mayor Sadiq Khan expressed strong enthusiasm for hosting the highly anticipated Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight at Wembley Stadium. He urged promoters to reach out, emphasizing the city's desire to bring this major boxing event home.

Recent communications from Saudi organisers Sela indicate interest in securing the iconic venue, despite reports that the promoters and broadcaster Netflix prefer Madison Square Garden in New York for a November matchup. Current discussions surrounding a London venue have reportedly stalled, with no concrete plans for dates or arrangements.

Khan stated, "A message to the promoters - we want to host it in London. Talk to us, we're really keen to have it." He acknowledged Wembley Stadium's standard curfew of 23:00, but hinted at a willingness to support efforts for a later fight time, which could enhance viewership in the U.S. by accommodating a late-night schedule.

The local authority, Brent Council, will need to evaluate any potential extension of the curfew, with safety considerations taking precedence.

Khan highlighted the significance of both fighters, noting, "Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are two great British boxers... They both recognize and love the fans in this country who have supported them throughout their careers."

With hopes of finalizing the venue soon, Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, has indicated an announcement could be forthcoming this week, followed by a news conference next week.
