Anthony Gordon has rapidly established himself as one of England's key players, following in the footsteps of stars like Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and Declan Rice. The Barcelona winger shone during the World Cup, earning a high-profile transfer to the Spanish giants this summer, and his impressive form has continued into the Nations League campaign.

In England's recent 2-0 victory against the Czech Republic on October 10, Gordon scored the opening goal, adding to his tally after netting against Spain in a 3-2 defeat at Wembley. His contributions have been pivotal; since the knockout stages of the World Cup, he has averaged a goal contribution every 69 minutes. Notably, he assisted Harry Kane twice in a 2-1 victory over DR Congo.

In his last six matches for England, Gordon has:

• Scored three goals
• Provided three assists
• Won a crucial penalty in the dramatic last-16 win against Mexico

Under Thomas Tuchel, Gordon is becoming an indispensable player, with the manager acknowledging his excellent performances and decisive actions. Tuchel noted, "He's getting there. He’s defending his shirt, he’s defending his position."

Gordon's synergy with teammates, including former Newcastle player Lewis Hall and right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, has been notable. Alexander-Arnold expressed excitement over linking up with Gordon, highlighting their collaborative efforts.

Despite a competitive landscape for the left-wing position, with players like Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden vying for the role, Gordon has emerged as a clear frontrunner. Harry Kane emphasized Gordon's ability to perform at the highest level, stating, "He is showing that he belongs at the highest level, for Barcelona and England."

Gordon's journey to becoming a mainstay in the squad has been gradual, but his recent performances suggest he is finally realizing his potential, making him a vital asset for the Three Lions.
