While Arsenal may not have prioritized Diomande this summer, he could have been a valuable asset, especially with William Saliba facing a lengthy injury that may require surgery. Reports suggest Saliba could miss the start of the season, prompting Arsenal to intensify their search for a centre-back.

The trend of losing targets has plagued Arsenal this summer, as they also missed out on Morgan Rogers, who signed with Chelsea, and Jeremy Monga, who joined Manchester City despite Arsenal appearing to be the favorites.
