Anna Nordqvist concluded her illustrious 18-year playing career at the FM Championship on Sunday, just days before taking on the role of captain for Team Europe in the upcoming Solheim Cup. The 39-year-old Swede finished her final round at TPC Boston with a level-par score, concluding the tournament at one under for the week, surrounded by fellow players and caddies.

Over her career, Nordqvist achieved:

• 16 victories, including three majors
• 19 top-10 finishes in major championships
• Five Solheim Cup victories from nine consecutive appearances

Reflecting on her journey, she expressed gratitude for the support she received since entering the tour in 2009 as a 21-year-old. "Nothing ever prepares you for this moment. I'm definitely going to miss it," she said, acknowledging the ups and downs she faced along the way.

Among her career highlights, she cherished her win at the 2021 AIG Women's Open at Carnoustie, describing it as a moment she still pins herself about, stating, "No one can ever take that away from me."

As she transitions to captaincy, Nordqvist has dedicated the past 18 months to preparing for the Solheim Cup, emphasizing the collective effort needed for success. Family plays a central role in her next chapter, as she plans to reunite with her nieces and nephews in the Netherlands soon.

In the tournament, Ruoning Yin of China claimed victory with a two-stroke lead over Hyo Joo Kim, marking her first win since 2024. The LPGA Tour now takes a break before the 20th Solheim Cup begins at Bernardus Golf on September 10.
