Andy Murray and Jack Draper are reuniting for the Mubadala DC Open after Draper's recent absence from Wimbledon. The 24-year-old player had to miss the tournament due to a bone bruise in his left arm, which has significantly impacted his ATP ranking.

In May, it was announced that Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion, joined Draper's team following Draper’s split with former coach Jamie Delgado. Initially, Murray had set conditions for their collaboration, stating in an interview with The Sun that he would only work with Draper for "a few weeks" and that nothing was confirmed beyond Wimbledon.

Murray emphasized the importance of family, noting he wanted to maintain his ability to pick up his kids from school while coaching Draper. Despite the short-term arrangement, both players appear optimistic about their partnership.

Draper, who has only participated in six ATP Tour tournaments this season, has seen his ranking drop to No. 147. This decline could necessitate qualifying for the upcoming US Open, as he missed the main draw for the event.

The young British player expressed his admiration for Murray, stating, "He has always supported me. I've always had a great relationship with Andy... it felt like a really good time to get Andy in my team. I’ve always wanted that because he's one of my biggest inspirations."

As Draper prepares to return to action at the Mubadala DC Open, he was seen training with Murray at the William HG FitzGerald Tennis Center, showcasing his recovery and readiness to compete.
