Ruben Amorim is set to return to management after agreeing to become Milan’s head coach. This pivotal move reduces Manchester United's financial obligations, as they will no longer be liable for the full £16.7m compensation package owed to Amorim and his staff following his dismissal in January.

Amorim, who replaces Massimiliano Allegri, has accepted a two-year contract with an option for a third. His primary objective will be to revitalize a squad that finished fifth in Serie A last season.

In a significant restructuring, Milan has already parted ways with several senior staff members, including sporting director Igli Tare, chief executive Giorgio Furlani, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada. As part of this overhaul, Nottingham Forest’s head of recruitment, Pedro Ferreira, is being eyed to join Amorim in Milan.

On the financial front, Manchester United has received an additional boost with the announcement of an Amazon All or Nothing documentary set to feature the club next season. While Amorim was still in charge, discussions regarding the documentary took place, but it was ultimately decided that it wasn't the right moment for such access. The club is expected to receive a substantial access fee, surpassing those of previous documentaries, as cameras will follow the men’s team under Michael Carrick, along with insights into the women’s and academy setups.
