Adam Ramsay-Peaty made a notable comeback at the Commonwealth Games swimming pool on Sunday, successfully qualifying for the semi-finals of the men’s 50 metre breaststroke event.

After experiencing an emotional moment on Saturday night, where he secured a bronze medal in the 100m event, Ramsay-Peaty bounced back to qualify as the fifth fastest swimmer for the evening's semi-finals in the shorter distance.

His impressive time of 27.27 seconds allowed him to surpass Filip Nowacki, an 18-year-old from Jersey, who had edged him out for the silver medal just 12 hours earlier, finishing with a time of 27.29 seconds.

However, Ramsay-Peaty's performance was outpaced by Australia’s Sam Williamson, the winner of the 100m event, who dominated heat eight with a remarkable time of 26.75 seconds. As a result, Ramsay-Peaty faces a challenging path ahead if he hopes to reclaim his spot atop the podium.
