Aston Villa has successfully agreed to a deal to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the West Ham defender. The DR Congo right-back will join on an initial loan arrangement, which includes an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Wan-Bissaka has received permission to travel to the Midlands for a medical, although the specific terms of the deal remain unclear. Previously, West Ham had requested interested clubs to pay a £25m fee for the 28-year-old, who has missed the first two matches of the season while negotiations took place.

This summer, West Ham made significant moves in the transfer market, selling:

• Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham for £85m
• Crysencio Summerville for £60m

Meanwhile, captain Jarrod Bowen has extended his contract with the club.

On the other hand, Aston Villa has also been active in the market, highlighted by the sale of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea for £117m. Currently, they boast the lowest net spend in the Premier League at approximately £110m, considering their sales.

Despite this, Villa has strengthened their squad by signing midfielders Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes, as well as Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho on a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Additionally, they have added the highly-rated young centre-back Modou Keba Cisse.
