Aaron McKenna and Denzel Bentley are set to face off in a highly anticipated world middleweight title unification bout this year, as confirmed by Sky Sports. McKenna recently secured the IBF title with an impressive points victory over Etinosa Oliha last month in Dublin, and now looks to add the WBO title to his accolades.

Denzel Bentley, who was elevated to WBO champion in July after Janibek Alimkhanuly vacated the belt, previously claimed the interim title by defeating Endry Saavedra in April.

In a post-fight interview following his title win, McKenna expressed his determination to dominate the middleweight division. "I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will literally fight anyone out there. I just want to unify, whatever it takes, prove I'm the best in the world. That's the sport of boxing," he stated. He emphasized the importance of fighters facing each other, reminiscent of the competitive spirit of the 80s and 90s.

McKenna also revealed his long-term ambitions, stating, "I'm 6ft 3in now and I have a very long reach as well. My body's the type of body that could fill out easily enough as well weight-wise. Once I'm done at 160lb, take over 168 and then 175. But by the time I finish out, I plan to have at least one fight at heavyweight."

He aims to revive big-time boxing in the middleweight division, viewing Bentley as a significant challenge on his path to greatness.
