Drafting quarterbacks this season promises excitement, thanks to the depth in the position. In a recent 12-team, half-PPR mock draft featuring CBS Sports staff, the value for quarterbacks was impressive. Notably, Josh Allen fell to No. 47 overall, while Drake Maye was picked in Round 6 and Jaxson Dart in Round 11.

Typically, quarterbacks tend to slip in analyst drafts, and CBS Sports Average Draft Position data confirms their value this season. The only quarterback selected in the first three rounds was Allen at No. 19 overall, followed by Lamar Jackson at No. 39.

In this draft, I had the opportunity to select Allen in Round 4 but chose D.J. Moore instead. I also passed on Jackson for D'Andre Swift in Round 5. My most challenging decision came in Round 9 between Jordan Addison and Trevor Lawrence, ultimately favoring a delayed quarterback selection.

In Round 12, I drafted Matthew Stafford, making me the last manager to secure a starting quarterback, which turned out to be a strategic win as he was the No. 1 quarterback in 2025. I complemented him with Jared Goff in Round 13, who has a favorable schedule with only five outdoor games through Week 17.

Other quarterbacks drafted in Round 13 or later included Brock Purdy, Kyler Murray, and Baker Mayfield, while notable undrafted quarterbacks were Bo Nix, Tyler Shough, Malik Willis, and Jordan Love.

The strength of my team lies in the receiver and tight end positions with stars like Ja'Marr Chase, Moore, and Chris Godwin. I waited until Round 3 to pick my first running back, yet I still formed a solid running back corps, including Jeremiyah Love, Swift, and Tony Pollard.

If the Stafford-Goff duo performs as expected, this team should contend for a playoff spot. I plan to continue waiting on quarterbacks this season.
