L'Jarius Sneed's Aggravated Assault Charge Dropped Following 2024 Shooting Incident

A charge against two-time Super Bowl winner L'Jarius Sneed has been dropped in connection with a 2024 shooting at a Dallas-area car dealership. Attorney Michael J. Todd announced this development on Tuesday, with Sneed expressing relief on social media, stating the "weight is finally off." Originally charged with aggravated assault on December 6, 2024, the allegation was later reduced to a misdemeanor for failing to report a felony, which carries a penalty of up to a year in county jail or a fine of $4,000. The incident involved the owner of a dealership in Carrollton, Texas, who claims he was shot at while sitting in his vehicle. A $1 million lawsuit is currently pending against Sneed and another individual, as reported by ESPN. Earlier this year, the Tennessee Titans released Sneed in March, saving $11.4 million against the salary cap in 2026 and $16.4 million in 2027. At 29, Sneed struggled to meet expectations after joining the Titans from the Kansas City Chiefs following their back-to-back Super Bowl victories in 2022 and 2023. His time with the Titans was marred by injuries, where he played just 12 games over two seasons, recording 26 tackles and three pass breakups in 2025. Overall, Sneed has tallied 352 tackles, 10 interceptions, and 6.5 sacks in 69 career games (66 starts) since being selected by Kansas City in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Louisiana Tech. Additionally, he earned a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) All-Rookie Team in 2020.
