Gibbs-White Voices Frustration Over World Cup Snub but Supports England Squad

Morgan Gibbs-White expressed his disappointment at being excluded from England’s World Cup squad, despite believing in the team's potential to clinch the title. The Nottingham Forest midfielder, who has earned six caps for his country, was left out by manager Thomas Tuchel last week. Despite some big names like Phil Foden and Cole Palmer also missing the cut due to lackluster domestic performances, Gibbs-White shone with an impressive 15 goals in the Premier League. He capped off his season with a goal in Forest’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on the final day. In an interview with Sky Sports News, Gibbs-White stated: “I was disappointed, really disappointed, but I was happy with the way I performed towards the end of the season. I knew in myself I couldn’t do any more. Any kid’s dream growing up is to play at a World Cup or make a World Cup squad list.” He extended his best wishes to the players who made the squad, highlighting their capabilities: “I’m wishing all the boys all the luck, all the best wishes, because this group, they are genuinely an incredible group of players. They’ve got everything they need to win it.” England will kick off their World Cup journey against Croatia on 17 June.
