Tragic Loss: Southampton and Royal Antwerp Mourn Former Player Victor Udoh
Southampton FC and Royal Antwerp have confirmed the tragic passing of former academy player Victor Udoh at just 21 years old. Victor Udoh had a brief yet impactful stint at Southampton, where he spent six months in the academy starting from February 2025. During his time, he made eight appearances for the under-21 side in Premier League 2. Before joining Southampton, Udoh showcased his talent in Belgium with Antwerp's academy, where he made 28 appearances for the first team. After parting ways with Southampton in September, the Nigerian left-winger signed with Ceske Budejovice, competing in the Czech second tier. Both clubs expressed their grief over Udoh's passing: Southampton stated, "We are devastated by the tragic passing of former player Victor Udoh at the age of 21. The thoughts of everyone at the club go out to Victor's loved ones at this extremely difficult time." Royal Antwerp echoed these sentiments, saying, "With great dismay, RAFC has learned of the passing of former player Victor Udoh. Our thoughts are with Victor's family, friends, and loved ones. We wish them much strength, support, and warmth during this particularly difficult time." Udoh was remembered not only for his skills on the pitch but also for the impact he had on those around him.
