Tom Smith Joins England Women's Coaching Team Ahead of T20 World Cup

England has appointed former Gloucestershire bowler Tom Smith as their spin-bowling coach for the upcoming summer. This decision comes as the team prepares for a crucial season that includes a home T20 World Cup and series against New Zealand, India, and Ireland. Smith, a 38-year-old left-arm spinner, will join Charlotte Edwards' coaching staff and will work closely with a talented pool of spin bowlers, which features: Sophie Ecclestone Linsey Smith Tilly Corteen-Coleman Charis Pavely Additionally, he will support spin-bowling all-rounders such as Charlie Dean, Alice Capsey, and Sarah Glenn. Edwards expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I'm delighted Tom is joining us after a professional playing career spanning nearly 20 years, most notably at Gloucestershire, before moving into coaching at the same county and working with Birmingham Phoenix women.
